Jamaica’s Shashalle Forbes finishes third in ORLEN Copernicus Cup, Poland
Shashalle Forbes secured third position in the women’s 60 m on Tuesday, 6th February 2024, at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Turon, Poland.

                                                    Kingston, Jamaica: Shashalle Forbes secured third position in the women’s 60 m on Tuesday, 6th February 2024, at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Turon, Poland. It is to be noted that she finished in the third spot with a time of 7.13 seconds.
Copernicus Cup is an indoor track and field competition that is held annually in February at the multi-purpose sports and entertainment Arena Torun in Torun, Poland.
Poland’s Ewa Swoboda and Italy’s Zaynab Dosso secured the first and the second spot, and their winning time was recorded as 7:01 and 7:02, respectively. Meanwhile, Forbes finishes at a distant third in 7:13.
Shashalee Forbes has been consistently proving herself and displaying her potential by participating in various conditions and events. She has also shown her worth by elevating her performance to new heights.
Moreover, Jamaica’s Shashalee Forbes’s determination resulted in her remarkable victory, as she clocked 7:03 to win at the Queens Grace Jackson Meet at the National Stadium in Kingston on 27 January 2024.
She also claimed victory in the women’s 60m dash at the ISTAF Indoor Meeting in Dusseldorf, Germany on Sunday. Jamaica’s sprinter Forbes won in 7.11 seconds, with countrywoman Christina Williams coming in fifth in 7.30 seconds.
Jamaica’s Shashalle Forbes expressed her excitement about the upcoming challenges and stated that she feels really great about this victory, and now she is aiming to look for a next PB, a next run.
Notably, Forbes has one more meeting lineup in New York after Poland. Forbes is working really hard towards her ultimate goal of representing Jamaica at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Along with that, she is also anticipating the World Indoor Championships in Scotland the following month.
“Glasgow is on my roadmap. Every championship is always on my roadmap; it is another opportunity to be great. And it is also a preparation for Paris. I really hope to get the chance to represent my country in Paris,” noted Shashalle Forbes.
