Jamaica: In a shocking incident reported in Jamaica, 9 murders happened on Sunday, the – first lockdown day of week, of a period of tighter restrictions imposed by the island’s government amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
There was a four-part murder in Clarendon, in which a – 19-year-old was assassinated. This was developed by separate attacks, which included a murder in the – Kingston 8 area, another fatality in Whithorn, Westmoreland & yet another in St Mary.
The body of an elderly man of 74-year-old – Oscar Jackson, who is a technician of – Campbell Avenue in the regions of – Port Antonio, Portland, was also found at his home on Sunday.
According to the Police reports, at about 9:50 am, who is a relative visited Jackson when his decomposing the body was seen inside the house.
The police then summoned, and upon their arrival, Jackson was seen lying on his bed with a – piece of the stick below his head. The scene was prepared, and the body was eliminated to the morgue pending post mortem.
Besides this, a 44-year-old named – Arvid Matthews, fisherman of Longwood district, Clarendon, was murdered by armed men. As per to the reports of Police authorities around 8:40 pm, Matthews was in Shearer’s Heights in the parish, standing on the – roadway with his friends, when they all were approached by 2 armed men who opened fire, hitting Matthews several times. The police were ordered, and on their arrival, Matthews was seen with various wounds. He was then – immediately taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Rampaging shooters killed at least twenty-seven people over – 72 hours on the – weekend. The free movement days fared no better. Of the murders occurred on – Saturday, while eleven killings took place on Friday, an especially – 24-hour period which included 4 murders in the central shopping district of – downtown Kingston.
