Harry Yearwood docks Jewel of the Seas at Port Zante for the first time
Harry Yearwood achieved a significant milestone as he docked the cruise ship Jewel of the Seas at Port Zante, St. Kitts for the first time.

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas extended congratulations to Harry Yearwood for achieving a significant milestone as for the first time, he docked the cruise ship Jewel of the Seas at Port Zante, St. Kitts.
“Just over a week ago, Nevisian Harry Yearwood docked, “Jewel of the Seas” at Port Zante Basseterre, which was his FIRST. Congrats to Harry,” noted Dr. Denzil Douglas.
Harry Yearwood’s affection and fondness for the boats and seas was nurtured from a very young age and since then he has always been very passionate to turn his aspirations into reality.
He holds over 13 years of experience in the sailing industry and after his education, he started pursuing training in sailing which eventually obtained him a license to work on ships. With his continuous efforts and unwavering commitment and dedication, he has propelled his position from the officer ranks to his current role as the Chief Officer.
Yearwood’s accomplishment as the Chief Officer for the Royal Caribbean Group and third in command of the vessel successfully docked the 297-meter-long vessel which welcomed around 3500 passengers on 2nd April 2024.
In these years, Yearwood has worked for several ships of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines which includes, Adventure of the Seas, Majesty of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas.
Harry Yearwood shed light on his experience and called it the most memorable moment to date. While shedding light on it he stated that he loved every minute of his journey, he felt extremely proud to drive back into St. Kitts and Nevis for the first time.
He was born to Alastair and Clear Yearwood and brought up in the village of Westbury on Nevis. He completed his high school at Maude Crosse Preparatory School and Lynn Jeffers High School. Following that, he attended the first Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) 95 certification course.
The certificate is crucial and compulsory for individuals who aspire to work in the Maritime industry. After that, Yearwood gained several certificates and experiences in order to enhance his skills and driving so that he could do what he loved the most.
This accomplishment also showcase his commitment to mark his journey towards his ultimate goal of becoming a captain and display his potential to excel on an international platform with his passion for the sea and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Moreover, several citizens of the island nation appreciated him and extended congratulations and best wishes to him for his further journeys.
