Guyana: Labour Ministry delegation visits Local Content Summit at Pegasus Corporate Suite & Convention Centre

The Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has recently shared an update about the team’s recent visit to the first Local Content Summit.

Georgetown, Guyana: The Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has recently shared an update about the team’s recent visit to the first Local Content Summit. The update by the ministry informed through a social media platform and mentioned, “A team from the Ministry of Labour attended Guyana’s first Local Content Summit held at the Pegasus Corporate Suite and Convention Centre.”

Furthermore, the ministry of labour of Guyana also highlighted that the event aims to share knowledge with local businesses interested in the Energy Sector.

As per the update shared by the ministry, it was made possible through a partnership between the MBW Energy Support Services Inc. (MBWESSI) and the Local Content Secretariat through the Ministry of Natural Resources, and it was held under the theme, “Sustaining Supplier Development through Local Content Partnership”.

The Labour Ministry has also highlighted that Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, also attended the summit as a panellist and was accompanied by officers representing the Labour, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA) and the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).

The Labour Ministry of Guyana has also shared an update regarding the Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Seminar hosted by the ministry on April 4, 2023. The update informed, “On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, the Ministry of Labour’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department hosted an Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Seminar for TechnipFMC employees.”

It further asserted that the seminar was facilitated at TechnipFMC’s conference room by Senior OSH Officer Maxean Bess.

As per the update of the ministry, a total of 11 employees participated, and they expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Labour for facilitating this session.
