Guyana Harpy Eagles defeated Barbados Pride by 56 runs in the CG United Super50 Cup 2023 at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, St Augustine, on Sunday, 29th October.

The toss was won by Barbados, and they elected to ball first.

Raymon Reifer and Javed Leacock both took three wickets. The former gave away 38 and the latter 30 runs in 7.0 and 6.3 overs respectively.

The other bowlers on the team, namely Kyle Mayers, Roston Chase, Kemar Smith and Jomel Warrican, all took one wicket each and summed up the first inning of the match by scoring 202 runs in 46.3 overs.

Guyana batting:

The highest run scorer of the match was Sherfane Rutherford, scoring 74 runs in 70 balls, and the second highest scorer was Kemol Savory, with 35 runs in 66 balls. The rest of the players scored fewer than twenty runs.

After the first inning, Guyana Harpy Eagles set a target of 203 runs for Barbados Pride.

Guyana bowling:

The star performer in the bowling section was Gudakesh Motie, as he took five wickets by giving just 17 runs in 9.5 overs with an impressive economy rate of 1.73.

Moreover, Kevin Sinclair gave 30 runs and sent three people back to the pavilion. Also, Kevlon Anderson and Veerasammy Permaul got one wicket each, while giving away 24 and 32 runs, respectively.

Barbados batting:

Kyle Mayers, the opener, started his inning quite decently and scored 64 runs in 63 balls. But unfortunately, he didn’t get the support from any other player to give a tough fight to the opposition. Subsequently, all players got out in just 39.5 and they ended their inning with just 146 runs.

All in all, The CG United Super50 Cup 2023 features eight teams, out of which Barbados Pride is in 4th position with 24 points and Guyana Harpy Eagles is at the 6th spot with 23 points. At the same time, Trinidad and Tobago took the top spot.
