Hillsborough, Carriacou: Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government highlighted that the diaspora of Grenada has been working and making significant contributions towards the well-being of senior citizens on Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

As per the update, the Grenada Diaspora continues to make significant contributions towards the well-being of senior citizens on the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

The latest contribution came from the National Democratic Congress New York Support Group to the Top Hill Senior Citizens Home.

The update stated that Tevin Andrews, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government and Member of Parliament for Carriacou and Petite Martinique, said this underscores the spirit of collaboration and unity, which is essential in advancing the well-being of residents of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

He further emphasized the significance of collaboration between non-governmental organizations and the Government. He also reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of senior citizens is taken care of.

Clavia McLaren, Acting Matron of the Top Hill Senior Citizens Home, expressed gratitude for the donation and said the supplies will be put to optimal use, benefiting the residents.

In addition to this, the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, through its Public Works Division, continues to work on the improvement of the infrastructure on the islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Accordingly, several road projects are now ongoing on the island, including 400ft of concrete pavement and drains in the Prospect Hall area, bottom Lauriston and the continuing widening of the streets in and around the town of Hillsborough.
