President of Haiti, Jovenel Moise, stated that I am currently at ONI to inquire about CIN production and delivery advancements. My Administration is working tirelessly to organize the referendum and to renew political staff this year through credible elections.

Furthermore, he added, I have just had a high-level meeting with the actors involved in the process of producing and delivering CINs, in the context of the forthcoming organization of the referendum and general elections. I remind the nation that I will not be a candidate in these elections.

Additionally, he announced that The National Identification Office (ONI) is hard at work across the country to enable the Haitian population of voting age to obtain the National Identification Card (CIN). The Government guarantees that the process will be completed on time.

Moreover, Elections are the foundation of democracy. An elected must be replaced by another elected. We must safeguard democratic gains. The transition is always profitable for a political and economic oligarchy, to the majority’s detriment, the eternal victim.

President Moise declared, This Monday, I will address the United Nations Security Council to present an assessment of the Haitian political situation. The referendum and the organization of elections to guarantee the continuity of the democratic order will also be on the menu of my intervention.”

He tweeted, “I was moved to learn the sad news of the death of Electoral Advisor Patrick Numa, who had put himself at the service of his country in a difficult context. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to his family and to the staff of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).”

Besides, he tweeted, I welcome the opportunity offered to me today to address the Security Council, that august and essential organ of the United Nations which has the highest responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of international peace and security.
