Roseau, Dominica: Edward Registe- Parliamentary Representative from Grand Bay constituency who passed away on September 2021, will be laid to rest today. The minister will be honoured with a “state funeral”.
On Tuesday, the body of the was laid in state at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The general public can visit the Conference Center of the State House on Wednesday, October 20 2021, to say a final goodbye to Edward Registe, popularly known as “Ed”.
He was the Parliamentary Representative for the Grand Bay Constituency since 2019. Besides this, Registe was also the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Diaspora Relations.
On September 1, 2021, Registe passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest. The country is observing three days of mourn in his remembrance. People recall him as an empathetic, helpful person who gave his life to the public service.
The funeral was delayed because of the sudden spike in coronavirus cases in Dominica. It is suspected that during the funeral, all COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place to ensure the safety of all.
