Roseau, Dominica: The Health Ministry has released the COVID-19 update report, according to which 130 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital facilities as of October 4, 2021.
With these, the recovery rate of the island country has climbed to 3,310.
The Health Ministry informed that a total of 65 individuals have tested positive for the contagious viral disease. With this, the total number of active cases has risen to 454.
Out of the new cases reported, two results were positive from the RT-PCR test, while in total, sixty-three individuals tested positive from Rapid Antigen Test.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak emerged in the island country, a total of 3,786 people contracted the viral disease.
The Health Ministry’s report further notes that till October 4, a total of 76,790 COVID-19 tests have been conducted on the island. On the other hand, in total twenty-two, people lost their lives to the contagious mutant.
The COVID-19 report further highlights the statistics of the COVID-19 vaccination; that is, a total of 25,953 people have taken their first shot of the vaccine. While in total, 21,751 individuals have received their second jab of the vaccine and are now fully vaccinated.
Besides this, the Health Ministry is continuously urging the citizens to take their doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible so as to win this battle against the coronavirus and asked them to follow the COVID-19 health protocols such as – wearing masks, sanitizing frequently, and maintaining social distance.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has stated that the government is not planning to pass legislation to mandate the take of COVID-19 vaccines; rather it is people who must understand the significance of getting themselves and their family members vaccinated.
