Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, and his wife and Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, have congratulated Lakeyia Joseph of Bense, the recipient of the Prime Minister’s National Youth Leader of the Year Award.
“Congratulations to Lakeyia Joseph of Bense, the Prime Minister’s National Youth Leader of the Year Award recipient.” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated, adding, “I also extend congratulations to the other awardees who have distinguished themselves in leadership roles and their respective fields. May they always maintain their passion for service and commitment to excellence.”
The award was presented to Miss Joseph at the National Youth Council’s Youth Awards on September 26, 2022. Lakeyia Joseph has demonstrated outstanding youth leadership and community service and excelling as a young entrepreneur. Through her agri-business, ‘Nature Blends,’ she creates employment and contributes to economic activity.
Parliamentary Representative Melissa Skerrit congratulated the winners and wrote, “I attended the National Youth Council’s annual awards ceremony, and I could not have been prouder of our amazing youth!”
The National Youth Council hosted its 13th National Youth Awards in style, and the council called the award ceremony ‘with much class and excellence’. It further said, “We believe in setting high standards and the youth “understood the assignment”.”
