Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit assures development and collaboration during visit to Marigot

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, recently paid an official visit to the Marigot constituency to survey the development and upliftment works.

During the visit, PM Skerrit was accompanied by other officials of the Dominican Government.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit outlined that he and his cabinet members would work closely with the Marigot’s Parliamentary Representative – Anthony Charles. He further promised that he would address all the concerns of the people and the representative of the constituency.

“We have given our commitment to work closely with the Parliamentary Representative for Marigot, Hon. Anthony Charles, to address matters of concern within his constituency,” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit mentioned through official social media handles.

According to the update, PM Skerrit visited various sites where construction is being conducted.

“On Wednesday, a team of Government officials visited the Wills Strathmore Stevens Primary School to look at requirements for fencing; and the Marigot Fisheries Complex to explore options to increase economic activity for stakeholders,” the social media update stated.

It was further informed that the Government would also give immediate attention to the clearing of storm drains in Over Gutter and the advancement of works on the Valley, Captain Bruce and Cayenne Buc Feeder Roads.

Additionally, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit was quoted saying, “I look forward to continued collaboration with Hon. Charles and the residents of Marigot and plan to return to the area for further talks with constituents in September.”

It is worth noting that under the guidance and leadership of PM Skerrit, the Caribbean nation of Dominica has witnessed growth and development. The continuous and tireless efforts by the authorities of the Commonwealth of Dominica have taken the nation to new heights. The Government is known to provide free houses, better, modern and climate-resilient infrastructure, and developed schools and hospitals for high-class education and medical assistance.
