Dominica: Melissa Skerrit congratulates PM Skerrit for receiving Cuban prestigious award Jose’ Marti’

Dominica: Parliamentary Representative of the Roseau Constituency Melissa Poponne Skerrit has congratulated Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for receiving the highest Cuban award Jose’ Marti’.
Currently, PM Skerrit is on a three-day trip to the Latin American country – Cuba, where he was awarded this prestigious order.
Parliamentary Representative took social media to share a congratulatory message to the PM. The post by Melissa Skerrit read, “Congratulations to the Hon Roosevelt Skerrit on receiving this prestigious order (of Jose’ Marti’) that The Government of Cuba bestowed.”
She also shared a video which showed a glimpse of Prime Minister Skerrit receiving the prestigious order of Jose’ Marti.
The Government of Dominica has planned to celebrate receiving this prestigious award. The celebration would be in honour of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on receiving the order of Jose’ Marti from the Government of the Republic of Cuba. The event will be celebrated on April 26, 2022 (Thursday).
Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed pleasure for being the recipient of the highest national recognition of Cuba. PM Skerrit stated, “I am honoured to be the recipient of the Order of José Martí, Cuba’s highest national recognition, conferred on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.”
PM Skerrit further thanked his well-wishes and supporters. His message read, “Thank you for your support and well wishes.”
He further lauded the Cuban authorities and stated, “Cuba has been a true and steadfast friend of Dominica, and I am proud to associate with the Cuban ideals and principles of peace, dignity, freedom, self-determination, justice, equity and a generosity, which always seeks to improve the condition of people everywhere.”
