CARIFTA 2022: Dominica’s athletes to return home today from Jamaica
The contingent which represented the Commonwealth of Dominica in the CARIFTA 2022 Games is scheduled to return on April 24, 2022 (Sunday).

Dominica: The contingent which represented the Commonwealth of Dominica in the CARIFTA 2022 Games is scheduled to return on April 24, 2022 (Sunday).
All the athletes would land at the Douglas Charles Airport at around 1 pm, as per the information shared by the Sports Division of Dominica.
“The contingent will arrive at the Douglas Charles Airport at 1 pm today, Sunday, April 24,” the Sports Division stated.
The Minister of Sports – Roselyn Paul, will meet and congratulate the players; following this, the Sports Ministry will host a welcome reception at the Business Lounge of the airport.
“The Minister of Sports, Roselyn Paul, will be on hand to welcome the athletes, following which the Ministry of Sports will hold a welcome reception for the team at the Business Lounge at the Douglas Charles Airport,” the division informed.
Furthermore, During the brief ceremony, congratulatory remarks will come from the Minister of Sports and the Minister of Youth, Dr Adis King.
Both the ministries would also present a token of appreciation to the athletes.
This year, in CARIFTA Games 2022, Dominica obtained two medals and scored 10th rank at the medal tally of the games. The two medals were won by Treneese Hamilton, who took Gold in the Girls Under 20 Shot Put, and Addison James, who won Silver in the Boys Under 17 Javelin.
Recent games were hosted by Jamaica, which also topped the medal tally with 97 medals (47 – Gold, 32 – Silver, and 18 – Bronze). The 49th edition of the Games has ended on April 18, Monday night, at the National Stadium in Kingston.
