Brantley expresses deep condolences on passing of former Premier Amory

St Kitts and Nevis: Premier of Nevis and leader of Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) – Mark Brantley expressed deepest condolences on passing of former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory.

While expressing grief, Brantley mentioned, “My brothers and sisters I address you on April 2, 2022, as the Premier of Nevis on the sad news that we lost Vance Amory. He was a giant who walked among us over the past several decades. He was founding member of Concerned Citizen Movement (CCM) and founding member of Team Unity.

He further added that “His DNA has been imprinted of every facet of the development on the island of Nevis and Federation.”

Premier of Nevis further stated it was shocking that this morning St Kitts and Nevis woke up with this tragic news.

“It was a shock that we today wake-up to this tragic news. As an athlete, cricketer, banker, and politician, he dedicated his life for the people of Nevis,” Nevis Premier noted.

“I express deep condolences that we lost second premier of Nevis and a truly great citizen of Nevis. I also take opportunity to extend my grief on the behalf of the people of Nevis and My Family. Deepest condolences towards his wife Vernita and children, his siblings and his entire family,” Brantley further stated.

“We have lost great servant and statesman. Nevis is in a better place, a place where there is no pain and sorrow and we are hopeful that his family will be comforted. His service will be long remembered for his contribution towards Nevis and wider Federation,” Brantley stated.

It was one of the worst days in the history of Nevis and the Federation for his immense contribution towards the beloved country.

Former cricketer Vance Amory lost his life on April 2, 2022 (Friday). Former Premier of Nevis was admitted to the hospital in London, United Kingdom, where he died during treatment of cancer.

In 2017, Vance showed his trust on Mark Brantley and he succeeded him as Premier of the Nevis Island.
