Barbados Vector Control Unit announces fogging schedule for Christ Church and St George
The Vector Control Unit in Barbados, which operates under the Ministry of Health and Wellness, has announced the fogging schedule for the ongoing week.

The Vector Control Unit in Barbados, which operates under the Ministry of Health and Wellness, has announced the fogging schedule for the ongoing week. To ensure the safety of citizens against mosquito-borne illnesses, the unit will conduct its fogging programme in several Christ Church and St George districts.
The schedule shared by the Unit mentions that on Wednesday, September 4, the areas that will be covered include Sargeant’s Village, Bartletts Tenantry, Garners Garden, Warners Garden, Tino Terrace and Browne’s Road.
Similarly, the localities that will be covered on Thursday, September 5 are Fort George Heights, South Ridge, Upton Terrace, Kent Ridge, Little Kent, The Grove, St. David’s, and Staple Grove.
Further, this week the fogging exercise will conclude in St. George and Christ Church, on Friday, September 6. The areas that will be fogged on the concluding day will be Hanson Crescent Drive, South District, Watts Village, Boarded Hall, Lower Greys, Dayrells Hill, Valley Vista, and Frere Pilgrim.
The Vector Unit shared that this week’s spraying exercise began from Monday, September 2, and on that day the team covered Warners Terrace, Briar Hall Gardens Nos.1 to 3, Warners Park, Vauxhall No.2, Vauxhall Gardens, Barracks Road, Warners Park North and surrounding areas.
Additionaly, on Tuesday, September 3, the Unit targeted Adams Castle, Vauxhall, Sheraton Park, Elizabeth Park, and Regency Park.
Further, the Vector Control Unit of Barbados stated that fogging will be conducted every day between 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
Ensuring the safety of the children, the unit has advised the elderly to keep the children inside their homes during the fogging hours and should not be allowed to play outdoors.
In addition, the residents are reminded to open the windows and doors of the house and to allow the spray to enter.
Also, the public is advised that in situations beyond the control of the unit, the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected. Under such circumstances, the team will return to communities and will conduct the fogging exercise.
