Barbados is all set to welcome thousands of revellers to hit the streets of the island nation today for the largest and most highly anticipated event, Flow Grand Kadooment.

Barbados: Barbados is all set to welcome thousands of revellers to hit the streets of the island nation today for the largest and highly anticipated event, Flow Grand Kadooment. The event is all set to display exhilarating and epic culture, culminating the two months of festivities, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Crop Over Festival.

The event will begin at 9 am, with 18 bands assembling together in the Helipad Car Park in Bridgetown to transform the streets of St Michael into a sea of vibrant colour. The Masqueraders will leave the assembly point and move towards the Princess Alice Highway, then onto President Kennedy Drive through Prescod Boulevard.

The parade makes the left at Eagle Hall Junction to head towards Black Rock Main Road before making a left at the Frank Worrell Roundabout culminating on the Mighty Grynner Highway where bands will end the day at Kensington Oval.

It is a great opportunity for all the spectators to line the streets from Princess Alice Highway to the Mighty Grynner Highway. The attendees will be offered special performances between the registered bands including percussion groups, cultural characters, entertainment zones along the route and a magnificent 50th Anniversary Crop Over tribute.

While shedding light on the grand finale of Crop Over 2024, the CEO asked residents to put their heads, hearts, hand together and show off the best behaviour, experience and creativity to celebrate the 50th edition of Crop Over Festival 2024.

The Senior Director and Head of Communications, C&W Communications, Marilyn Sealy, shed light on the Flow’s support of the grandeur and excitement expected on Grand Kadooment Day.

She stated that Flow has long been a proud and resolute supporter of the Arts, culture and heritage in Barbados. She continued to say that they recognise the significance of celebrating the rich traditions of the island nation and highlighting the vibrant spirit of the people of the country.

She also added that the company had invested over a quarter of million dollars in the golden jubilee of Crop Over Season. She added that she is hoping Flow Grand Kadooment to be a huge success.
