Bridgetown, Barbados: Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, expressed grief and condolence towards the friends and family of Victor Blackman – a worker from Barbados Water Authority.
Blackman lost his life while providing water supply to the citizens and residents of Barbados.
PM Mia Mottley also mentioned that she would keep the family of the water supplier in her thoughts as they left their loved one – who was dedicated to working for his country.
“I extend sincere condolences to the family of Barbados Water Authority worker Victor Blackman, who lost his life today while providing one of the most basic needs of man – the supply of water,” she stated through her official Twitter account.
Prime Minister Mottley also outlined that this news has not only affected the family and household of Blackman but has also impacted the family of Barbados Water Authority (BWA).
“No doubt, there is sadness, not only in the Blackman household right now, but across the BWA family and in the households whereas a tanker assistant he brought much-needed relief,” the tweet by PM stated.
Further, she appealed to all the citizens of the nation to come together and pray for the recovery of the driver Rohan Wilkinson, who got hurt during this incident. Wilkinson is admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados and is receiving all the possible treatment.
She mentioned, “I also ask all Barbadians this afternoon to say a prayer for the full and speedy recovery of driver Rohan Wilkinson, a patient of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as well as all who have been hurt in any way by this tragedy.”

According to the reports by the police of Barbados, at the time of the accident, Blackman and Wilkinson were on the duty transporting potable water to the residents of St Peter. After the accident occurred, the driver was saved after being trapped being the front wheel, whereas Blackman fell out of the vehicle.
As per the preliminary report, Victor Blackman was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
