Barbados bags title of ‘Best Tourist Board’ at Globe Travel Awards 2024

The Travel Weekly, in the recent edition of the Globe Travel Awards 2024, has awarded the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc as the ‘Best Tourist Board.’
It is to be noted that being recognised as the Oscars for the field of travel, The Globe Travel Awards have provided travel sellers with the opportunity to recognise and reward their favoured suppliers for over 45 years.
It is a huge milestone for the Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporation, winning such a prestigious award as Barbados was the only Caribbean nation that was shortlisted in this category.
The other tourism boards which were shortlisted in the category include Destination Canada, Portuguese National Tourist Office, Spanish National Trust Office, Brand USA, Greek National Tourist Office, Tourism Australia, Visit Florida, Visit Orlando and Visit Malta.
This huge win by the island nation and receiving the award reflects the unwavering commitment and dedication of the management, their creativity and the passion of the team towards their work.
Minister of Tourism of Barbados and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill, stated that “It is the tireless dedication and hard work of the BTMI UK team that Barbados has won such an esteemed award.”
He also added that this award is not just a recognition of the island nation but also of every dedicated person in the team whose hard work made the island nation shine on the world stage.
Tourism Minister also extended gratitude and recognised the work of their travel trade partners who always plays a pivotal role in enhancing the tourism sector of the island nation.
The UK Director for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Cheryl Carter, while expressing her gratitude stated that “we are truly overwhelmed and honoured to be recognised as the Best Tourism Board.”
In the note, she promised that they will continue to offer the best possible facilities to its tourists and will make every possible effort to enhance the vibrant culture, warm hospitality and ever-lasting beauty of the island nation.
Barbados Tourism, has been continuous on the promise to provide tourists with lifelong memories, for which it has been awarded for.
