Barbados: The Ministry of Health and Wellness has announced an update on the upcoming event, which will be organized on April 7, 2022.

Recently, on March 27, 2022 (Sunday), the government has announced that the Health and Wellness Ministry will host a free fitness event on the occasion of “World Health Day” on April 7, 2022. As per the information provided by the government, the event will be organized at Independence Square, Bridgetown, and the timing will be between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

“On Thursday, April 7, the Ministry of Health and Wellness will be hosting a free event to celebrate World Health Day, at the Independence Square, Bridgetown, from 3:30 pm until 6:30p.m,” the notification by the authority mentioned.

The government has further invited the residents to join them for the fitness sessions, which would be conducted along with music by DJ Gerald B.

“You are invited to join us for three hours of fun as five fitness instructors take you through their sessions to the sounds of DJ Gerald B,” the government outlined while sharing an invitation.

The government further mentioned, “There will be tai chi, line dancing, aerobics, dancercise, and yoga until the sun goes down.”

This workout even would be a step towards providing support to the Annual Charity Run or Walk hosted by the Barbados Defence Force. The Ministry of Health and Wellness has stated that it will be funding the charity walk this year.

“As you workout with us, you will be ‘moving’ in support of the Barbados Defence Force Annual Charity Run/Walk. The Ministry of Health and Wellness will be sponsoring the BDF Charity run/ walk this year in aid of the Precious Touch Foundation as well as the minor survivors of deceased BDF soldiers,” the government informed.

The authority has further stated that all COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
