Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas Hubert Minnis announced, “The past year was filled with many difficult days and challenges. But amidst the heartbreaks and sometimes brokenness, Bahamians worked together to save and to protect life, to care for another, and to bind up and help heal the wounds and scars of the year.”
“It is this same powerful spirit of togetherness, unity of purpose and love of family, neighbour, friends and country that will make 2021 a better, more prosperous, and blessed and bountiful New Year,” he added.

PM also went to government health clinics, thank health care workers for all of their hard work throughout the pandemic, and encouraged them for the New Year. The clinics included: Fleming Street Clinic, Anne’s Town Clinic, Elizabeth Estates Clinic, South Beach Clinic, Flamingo Gardens Clinic and Gambier Clinic. He also spoke to the permanent nurses about their overtime payment for services during Hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Facebook user commented “Pleased to see he has his mask on in ALL photos this time. The front line first responders could use the encouragement from him; it is good he went out to do this.”
Another Facebook user wrote: “So 10% for armed forces, 10% for the disabled, who knows how much other ppl he then promises this too. Political scheme to me.” Leaders like Hubert Minnis can boost a large number of population.
