As usual, PM Keith Rowley tells another big lie to deflect from topic: UNC

Trinidad and Tobago: After a long silence, PM Keith Rowley expressed his viewpoints on UNC’s questions. However, it seems like he made a mistake by saying, “The Opposition Leader on a political platform speaks at length about a “Minister’s 1% wedding in St Clair in violation of Covid restrictions”. As Prime Minister, I know of no Minister who hosted a wedding as described.”

According to UNC, this news of the wedding is unfairly utilized by the PNM, and there is an adulteration of words in the statement.

As opposition Leader-Kamla Persad-Bissessar never said, a Minister hosted a wedding in St. Clair in violation of COVID-19 restrictions.

The truth is she stated that “PNM financier allegedly hosted the wedding in St. Clair, with 250 guests two weekends ago, clearly contravening covid regulations.”

Additionally, The Opposition Leader wanted the Prime Minister to answer whether any of his Ministers were present because the UNC has sources that Cabinet Ministers were in presence.

On this aspect, UNC stated, “Typically, to dodge answering the question, PM Keith Rowley, as conventional, tells another Big Lie to deflect and change the respective topic.”

As far as the EBC is bothered, the intact delegation of the EBC that the UNC met with on 7 April 2021 — including EBC Chairman Mark Ramkerrysingh and CEO Fern Narcis-Scope — reported to the UNC that the Administration did not discuss the EBC on increasing the number of seats to 15.

Moreover, PM Keith Rowley accused, “In the same speech she(Kamla) rails against comparable “disregard in Tobago where Ministers were playing in golf tournaments”. As far as I’m aware, I am the only member of Cabinet who plays golf, and I have not played in a golf tournament in Tobago since early 2019.”

Furthermore, UNC added, “We remind the PM that, laid in Parliament in December 2020, the Twelfth Report of the Elections and Boundaries Commission on the-Boundaries of the Electoral-Districts in the Electoral Area of Tobago states as follows:

Consequently, the Commission estimates that no modification is necessary to existing boundaries of the constituent districts in the electoral area of Tobago, UNC added.

UNC stated, “The Commission consequently recommends that there should be no change in the borders of the twelve electoral districts in the electoral area of Tobago.”

“So, is the PM now programmed to call the EBC Chairman, Mark Ramkerrysingh, a liar? Is the PM now available to reach the EBC CEO, Fern Narcis-Scope, a liar?” UNC added.

UNC added, “Knowing Keith Rowley, this may very properly be the case. Dr Rowley must assume that the people of Trinidad & Tobago are stupid. He is immediately waking up to the fact that the preponderance is not his puppets.”

Keith Rowley is now striving to practice Facebook to disseminate his deliberate misinformation to his supporters directly, UNC added.
