The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne has doomed the assassination attack that was attempted on the former President of the United States, Donald Trump vilifying all forms of acts of violence made against political leaders.
The assassination attack on Trump was attempted during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The FBI identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, a town about an hour’s drive from the scene of the incident.
In the late hours of Saturday, Browne stated that central should present a democracy where politicians can be allowed to campaign without putting their lives on stake. He also expressed that he was relieved by the fact that the Former President didn’t receive grave injuries.
PM Browne said that he will be sending a personal message of good will to Donald Trump rooting for his speedy recovery. He also appreciated President Joe Biden for his immediately condemnation of the act of violence and added that throughout the world noble public figures should come up together to make it clear that there is no tolerance for violence in the political culture.
Both the Brooklyn Democratic Party and the 67th Police Precinct Clergy Council known as The God Squad, united to condemn the botched assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump. The act left one dead and two others severely wounded, for which politicians and clerics are all coming out strongly against such an act.
The FBI confirmed that Crooks used an AR-15 type of semi-automatic rifle to rain down a barrage of bullets before he succumbed to officers’ bullets.
President Joe Biden described the incident as a sick one, in a national televised addressing, condemning the attack and calling for national unity and a rejection of violence stating, “We cannot allow for this to be happening.” And for Brooklyn leaders and the nation in mourning, a call for peace and strengthened gun control rings loud in unison, expressing a shared desire for security and democracy.
