Antigua and Barbuda to commemorate World Wellness Weekend from Sept 15 to 17
Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has recently stated about its participation in the celebrations of World Wellness Weekend.

St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has recently stated about its participation in the celebrations of World Wellness Weekend. As per the update, the Weekend will be celebrated from September 15 to 17, 2023.
In this regard, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has shared a list of activities which will be hosted to mark the Weekend.
As per the shared schedule, in Antigua on September 15, the events will be held at Darkwood Beach. In total, two activities will be held –
– Tai Chi at 7 in the morning
– Sunset Yoga at 5 in the evening
On September 16, the events will be held at Energie Gym English Harbour. The activities to be held are –
– Mat Pilates at 8 in the morning
– Vinyasa Flow Yoga at 9 in the morning
On September 17, the activity will be done from Galleon Beach to Blockhouse. The activity will be –
– Hike, Scavenger Hunt and Yoga at 4:45 in the morning.
However, in Barbuda, on September 15
– Nutrition Talks and Tree Planting will be held at Holy Trinity Primary School and Sir McChesney George Secondary School.
On September 16, the event will be celebrated at Martello Tower. The event will be –
– SOCAROBIX and Scavenger Hunt from 10 in the morning
While sharing the schedule, the authority also asked the interested individuals to bring their families, friends and other close associates.
It has been considered a global event which has been supporting the ‘third sustainable development goal’ of the United Nations, which is “Good Health and Well-being for All”. The World Wellness Weekend promotes the UN’s five pillars of wellness:
- Sleep and Creativity
- Nutrition and Immunity
- Movement and Vitality
- Mindfulness and Serenity
- Sense of Purpose and Solidarity
According to the officials, this year, this wellness weekend will be celebrated in around 150 countries and 8,000 venues. During this celebration, the participants will indulge in free-of-charge outdoor as well as indoor activities. Accordingly, these activities are hosted by the Ambassadors of World Wellness Weekend, Coordinators and Wellness Leaders.
