St George’s, Grenada: The Grenada Tourism Authority has announced the commencement of double service of Air Canada Airways to the Caribbean nation. The service will start on October 29 and will ease visits to Grenada from Canada.
The airline has announced that it will double the previous capacity, providing warm, adventurous and relaxing winters. Following the double frequency, the destination will welcome four weekly flights between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND), which earlier was two flights per week.
According to the official schedule shared by Air Canada, the flights will fly on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It further informed that from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), the flight will depart at 9:30 am and it will land at 3:55 pm at Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND). The travellers will enjoy the journey of around six and a half hours.
However, the return journey will be reduced to five hours as the flight will depart at 4:55 pm from Grenada and will reach Toronto at 9:55 pm.
“Canada is a really big market for Grenada and has always been the fourth biggest source of visitors after the USA, UK, and the Caribbean. We will be starting a strong campaign to make sure we take advantage of the increase in the number of available seats,” said Petra Roach, the CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority.
“We are happy to provide additional flights between Grenada and Toronto, with up to four flights per week,” said Nino Montagnese, Vice President at Air Canada Vacations.
“This improved schedule will give Canadian travellers the opportunity to explore Grenada’s untouched natural beauty and clear waters. With Air Canada Vacations’ wide range of vacation packages, customers can easily escape to paradise. The reintroduction of direct flights by Air Canada to Grenada is a positive development for our country’s air travel connections,” said Consul General Dawne Francois.
