A 38-year-old man of Jamaica, who chopped a woman with a machete on Sunday has been arrested for the offence of wounding with intent. The reason behind his action is known to be the dispute that took place between the two.

Westmoreland, Jamaica: A 38-year-old man, who chopped a woman with a machete on Sunday has been arrested for the offence of wounding with intent. The reason behind his action is known to be the dispute that took place between the two.
The accused has been identified as Garrett Reid alias ‘Suki’, a resident of Strathbogie District, Savanna-la-Mar. Meanwhile, the identity of the chopped woman has not been revealed yet by the authorities.
As per the details shared by the authorities of Savanna-la-Mar police station, Garrett Reid entered the yard of a woman. Subsequently, they both got into a heated argument which led the accused to take out a machete and resulted in attacking the woman.
As per the reports, the accused attacked the woman to her upper body which created several wounds to that part of her body. Following the incident, the neighbours called the officials of the area and alerted them about the offence that took place.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities immediately responded to the matter and arrested Garrett Reid. The accused has also been charged on the basis of witness statements against him. The woman was transferred to the hospital where the doctors examined her thoroughly and admitted her.
As per the hospital reports, the woman is still hospitalised and in serious condition, the doctors are examining her properly and providing her with the best medical facilities, ensuring she recovers as soon as possible.
Moreover, the court date for the case of Garrett Reid has been finalised, where he will be presented before the magistrate and will be questioned for the crime he committed.
Several residents of the community took to their official Facebook accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the news. They have also raised their concern about the increasing crime activity occurring in the country. They have requested the administration to take stringent measures to ensure the security and safety of every citizen of the country.
One person commented “I don’t know what is happening in this country, day by day all we hear is someone arrested for killing that person, while someone arrested for consuming narcotics. I do not get how the residents will live peacefully in the nation with so much crime happening in their surroundings.
