346 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Trinidad and Tobago

60 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities

Port of Spain: In Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Health public its COVID-19 update through a media release. This media release shows the clinical updation till 4 pm on June 25 2021.

Till present total of 2,24,850 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 31,775 confirmed cases had been reported from March 2020 till present, out of which 23,331 have been fortunately recovered.

The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 7,613 in this 346 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.

The hospitals have been occupied by 385 patients at present in T&T. 768 patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.

Till 4 pm 1,94,212 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons 89,651 got 

AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 1,04,361 got Sinopharm vaccine and 200 doses of Pfizer. Thus,63,647 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.

60 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 297 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorised in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.

16 additional deaths have also been reported on Thursday. From the 16 deads, 7 were elderly males, 2 elderly female and 1 middle-aged male, 4 middle-aged female, 3 middle aged female without co-morbidities. These deaths have been declared the lowest number of covid-19 deaths since May. 

The second-lowest estimate of deaths for the week was recorded on Monday by seven.

The additional cases were taken from samples for the period June.

The ministry urges the public to continue obeying the Public Health Regulations, obey regular hand hygiene and keep physical distancing in public to withdraw from spreading the virus.
