Port of Spain:  Ministry of Health of Trinidad and Tobago released their COVID-19 update through a media release. This media release shows the clinical updating till 4 pm on July 19 2021.

Till present total of 2,50,789 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 36,198 confirmed cases till present, out of which 29,458 have been fortunately recovered.

The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 5,742 in this 181 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.

The hospitals have been occupied by 306 patients at present in T&T. 998  patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.

Till 4 pm 2,52,521 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons 91,844 got AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 1,60,477 got Sinopharm vaccine and 200 doses of Pfizer. Thus,1,72,642 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.

38 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 175 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorised in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.

6 additional deaths have also been reported on Thursday. From the 6 deads,3 were elderly males,2 elderly female and 0 middle-aged male,0 middle-aged females, 1 adult male without co-morbidities. 

The government of Trinidad and Tobago had reopen its border for travellers from July 17 but also warned that the non-vaccinated people would not be allowed to enter the country.

The additional cases were taken from samples for the period June.

The ministry urges the public to continue obeying the Public Health Regulations, obey regular hand hygiene and keep physical distancing in public to withdraw from spreading the virus.
