Antigua and Barbuda: Prime Minister Gaston Browne has encouraged the residents of the country to come and share their support with the West Indies team, which will contest against Bangladesh in the upcoming cricket test match.

He took social media and shared a motivational video with a message which asked the residents to support #MenInMaroon.

The match will be played at Sir Vivan Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda. The series will commence on June 16 and will be concluded on June 20, 2022.

The government of Antigua and Barbuda stated, “Prime Minister Gaston Browne encourages all Antiguans and Barbadians to come out in their numbers to support our #MenInMaroon in the West Indies Vs Bangladesh test match cricket to be held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium from June 16th-20th.”

Both countries will play two test matches during the Bangladesh tour of the West Indies in 2022. West Indies and Bangladesh will play under the captaincy of Kraigg Brathwaite and Shakib Al Hasan, respectively.

In the last match, West Indies bagged victory against England at home in a three-match test series in March. The first two test matches ended in a draw, and the last one was won by West Indies, which won the series 1-0.

In head-to-head encounters in Test matches, Bangladesh and West Indies have played 16 matches. West Indies has won 12 games, while Bangladesh has only won four games. There were two games that ended in a draw. While playing in West Indies, the home team has won five games out of six.
