Weather update, January 3: Trinidad & Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) shares the weather update of Trinidad, Tobago and the Windward Islands that people may witness sunny, slightly hazy and breezy with isolated showers.
As per TTMS, the nighttime will be fair and cool despite the odd shower.
The Leeward
The Leeward is forecasted to remain partly cloudy to cloudy and there might be breezy winds with occasional showers.
Marine Forecast
According to the weather forecast reports, Seas are forecasted to remain slight to moderate throughout the day.
Waves Forecast
Further, TTMS stated that the waves in open water could range between 1.0m to 1.5m and it will span between 0.1m to 0.5m and occasionally choppy in the Northern Leewards in sheltered or covered areas.
Air quality
The air quality is generally acceptable for the majority of people; however, the sensitive groups may face minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.
It is to be noted that there will be a mild or moderate concentration of Saharan dust across the regions of Trinidad and Tobago.

TTMS forecasted that people may experience partly cloudy with showers, improving by mid- afternoon. The night will be fair.
Friday, January 5, 2024
The weather during the day will remain mostly fair, with cool night.
Moreover, yesterday, January 2, 2024, people experienced sunny and slightly hazy conditions interrupted by a few cloudy intervals with showers in Trinidad, Tobago and the Remainder of the Lesser Antilles.
There was a twenty per cent (20%) chance of the isolated heavy showers.
Most recently, the rainfall in December has already positively influenced the surface of water flows, groundwater recharge and river levels.
However, the first half of the dry season has negatively impacted the surface and groundwater recharge rates and stream flow rates.
It is to be noted that there will be a chance for bush, forest and landfill fire potential, especially from early January to March 2024. It will be reached less in April and May 2024.
Moreover, this will reduce the air quality and negatively affect individuals with existing respiratory and other ailments.
