Georgetown, Guyana: Three persons were arrested with the offence of ‘Attempt to Commit a Felony’ on January 4, 2024. It is to be noted that they were apprehended by a detective from the Cobe and John Police Station.

Noting this, the three named Gopaul Brijlall, a 27-year-old Labourer of Lusignan at East Coast Demerara, Krishna Persaud, a Welder of age 20 years recognised to be from Lusignan and a 31-year-old Conrad Saul, a driver of Liliendaal in East Coast Demerara.

Notably, the trio were charged with committing the Felony on Muneshwar Persaud, and the incident took place on January 4, 2024.

Moreover, all three suspects appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charges were read to them.

As per police reports, they all pleaded not guilty and were placed on $150,000 bail each. Further to this, the matter was adjourned to February 15, 2024.

It is to be noted that the growing crime rate across Guyana continues to pose a threat to national peace and security. People across the nation are also expressing their disappointment over the authority’s commitment towards ensuring internal security.

The information about this crime has also been denounced by many across social media. People took it to their official social media handles to express condemnation against the crime. Noting to which one of the few comments reads, “Jail these kind of people, who are trying to spread the message of hate, violence, and bringing crime rate across the nation to the top. Police authorities must deal with such kinds of criminals iron-handedly, so that the crime graph which is continuously peaking, must take some break. And so that, there could be a sigh of relief for the people across Guyana.”

Another user named Suella Crawford wrote, “Hmmmm, the 3 other guys that robbed the contractor remanded, and also, they get back the stuff.”

Other people need to learn a lesson from this, as committing such crimes would lead them to jail.
