Trinidad and Tobago wins bronze at Santiago 2023 Pan Am Games

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Team Trinidad and Tobago shone as they won the bronze against the team Venezuelans in the Men’s Basketball 3×3 game at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The Trinidad and Tobago team beat the Venezuelan basketball team, who were on the verge of the podium by 21-20.

The Caribbean team started the game with zest and zeal and looked for a lead against the Venezuelans. However, the tricolour team anyhow managed to equalize the match by scoring 16-16.

Glimpses of the match

In the beginning, the Trinidad and Tobago team took an early lead against the Venezuelan team in the Men’s Basketball 3×3, which was held at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

Venezuela managed to fight back, focussing on narrowing the gap. As the clock ticked down, the tension and stress could be seen on the faces of TEAM TTO (Trinidad and Tobago).

Trinidad and Tobago slinked a winning shot in that crucial situation just before the buzzer and secured the bronze medal with a rip-roaring 21-21 victory.

Trinidad and Tobago team created a history in Pan American games and left a legacy of grit and determination through their unwavering commitment and dedication towards their game.

This is Trinidad and Tobago’s 18th appearance at the Pan-American Games. Nicholas Paul- Track cyclist, and Tiana Guy- Boxer, were the country’s flagbearers during the opening ceremony.

Pan American Games 2023:

Pan American Games, famously known as Santiago 2023, is an international multi-sport event which is led by the Panam Sports Organization.

The games are being held from October 20- November 5, 2023, in Santiago, Chile. The opening and preliminary rounds in particular events started on October 18, 2023.

The first Pan American Games takes place in Chile, and the eighth is to be held in South America.

The games are being held in 39 different venues in the Santiago Metropolitan Region and the three regions of Chile.

The Santiago Committee organized the Pan American Games and Parapan American Games for the Pan and Parapan American Games 2023.
