St Vincent and the Grenadines prepares for 45th Independence Anniversary celebrations
St Vincent and the Grenadines, this year’s Independence ensures not only the celebration of culture and traditions but also diverse range of sporting activities, captivating large number of citizens and travellers.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is all set to mark its 45th anniversary of Independence, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the nation. With parades, concerts, and cultural exhibitions, this year’s anniversary promises to be an experience like no other.
As the authorities are headed to their Independence month, the Tourism Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos James has shared an exciting schedule of activities filled with several events, commemorating the vibrant culture and traditions of the country.
While extending welcome to all the citizens, the Minister noted “Get ready to celebrate 45 years of independence. 45 Years of Togetherness, Prosperity and Perseverance!”
This exciting month of activities began with the inaugural visit by JetBlue to St Vincent and the Grenadines on 9th October. This inaugural flight brought several passengers along with the Olympians Shafiqua Maloney and Handal Roban boarded the flight, making a visit unforgettable for everyone.
Following that the next two days i.e. 10th and 11th October, 2024 the authorities hosted the Vincy Heat Match and Pink Cap Walk and Rally, celebrating each day of the month of 45th years of Independence.
“Join us as we honor our past and embrace the future,” noted Tourism Minister Carlos James.

- 19th October: Sporting Events, Park Hill Cricket, starting 3 pm, Sporting Events, Layou Netball, Football and Volleyball Starting 6 pm
- 21st October: Best Village Judging Flag Raising and Fireworks Display, Cruise Ship Berth
- 22nd October: Best Village Judging
- 23rd October: Best Village Judging Masters T20
- 24th October: Best Village Judging Round Table Talk Masters T20
- 25th October: Best Village Judging Masters T20, Jam 45- Police Canteen Sporting Events, North Leeward Independence, Soccerama and Netball Cup, Knockout
- 25th October: Teen Splash, Mess Color Fete, Sports- Glow Run, NIS to Kingdom, Starting: 6 PM, Masters T20, Sporting Events, North Leeward Independence, Soccerama and Netball Cup, Finals
