St Lucia: Renowned photographer brutally shot at his residence

On Tuesday, a renowned photographer - Tervelle Gabriel, was shot dead by a gunman at his residence in St Lucia. As per the reports, Gabriel was resting on his couch when a gunman entered his home and brutally shot him three times.

Gabriel was immediately taken to the OKEU hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctor. The incident took place after the photographer had dinner with his father and went to rest. This incident has left the island’s population in shock. 

Thousands of people paid their condolences to the 23-year-old photographer. 

Gabriel’s father – Gregory Gabriel, is a construction worker who, while in conversation with a local media house, highlighted that he was a very good son and never had any grudges with anyone. 

He added, “nobody can ever say they had a problem with Tervell. He is a good child – does not look for trouble with anybody. I don’t know if it was because of jealousy because of his work.” 

“I don’t know if maybe it was a girl he was checking and the person feels that ‘Trevell took my girlfriend from me I will pay somebody to come and kill him. But as I tell you I can reach Haiti, but the person will pay for it”. 

Gregory noted that justice would be granted to his son’s murderer within the limits of law and that the one who did this would have to pay for it. 

No statement has yet been given by the police authorities. 

He was a passionate young photographer who always aspired to become successful in his life. 

The rising murder cases in St Lucia has created fear in the minds of the general public. The rising gang violence is a big obstacle in the development of the Caribbean nation, for which the government needs to take immediate actions.
