St Kitts and Nevis recorded 44 new COVID-19 cases

St Kitts and Nevis: Forty-four individuals have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in St Kitts and Nevis, leading the total number of active cases in the nation to 782, as of 22 September 2021, in accordance with the report of the Health Ministry.

As per the report, 970 individuals so far have been recovered from the deadly virus, whereas ten people lost their lives.

As per the Health Ministry’s report, out of 1,762 confirmed cases discovered, 1,444 cases were reported on St Kitts, and 318 COVID-19 infections have been reported on Nevis island.

According to the COVID-19 vaccination report of the St Kitts and Nevis Health Ministry, as of 22 September 2021, a total of 6.1 per cent of the children population (between the age group 12 -17 years) has been given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Around 66.3 per cent of the St Kitts & Nevis population has received their second jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine and are fully vaccinated now, while a total of 75.3 per cent of the SKN population has taken its first dose.

A total of 47,098 vaccine doses have been administered on the twin island.

Worldwide currently, there are a total of 229,373,963 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, while in total, 207,716,800 individuals have recovered from the mutant while around 4,705,111 individuals lost their lives to the deadliest COVID-19 virus.

In addition, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Timothy Harris, is also encouraging the citizens to take doses of their COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible in order to fight and defeat the deadly mutant.

The government of SKN has asked its citizens to abide by the COVID-19 health protocols and measures such as – wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, maintaining social distance.
