St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently met with the Director of MSR Media, Phillipe Martinez, and Actress Elizabeth Hurley to discuss the film production work they have been doing in the twin-island Federation.
Actress Elizabeth Hurley is an internationally renowned British actress who has appeared in several films, including Austin Powers, Serving Sara, and Then Came You. She has been a model for Estée Lauder, the cosmetic company, since the age of 29.
During today’s meeting, Martinez credited nationals employed with their production team in filming. He applauded the newly created Ministry of the Creative Economy, which he said he would rely on going forward in terms of policy directives with respect to collaborating with his production team and the talent pool in the Federation.
MSR Media holds a significant place in promoting and uplifting the film industry in a beautiful and mesmerizing country. During the tough time of COVID-19, Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley met with the director of MSR and signed a contract to shoot around 25 films on the sister island of Nevis. This contract helped the island to generate an economy during difficult times.
Earlier, Premier Brantley highlighted that the island has been recovering well from COVID-19 because of the increasing film industry in the nation. Premier noted, “Something good is happening in Nevis. The nation is seriously trying to develop a film industry as part of its post-Covid recovery strategy. Thanks to MSR Media for its excellent partnership.”
