St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew congratulates Larry Vaughn for becoming new CARICOM Ambassador
Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis congratulated Larry Vaughn for being appointed as the new Ambassador for St Kitts and Nevis to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on March 14, 2023.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis congratulated Larry Vaughn for being appointed as the new Ambassador for St Kitts and Nevis to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on March 14, 2023. PM Drew invited the people of St Kitts and Nevis to congratulate the Ambassador and stated, “His Excellency Ambassador Larry Vaughn was accredited earlier today at the CARICOM Secretariat as the new Ambassador for Saint Kitts and Nevis to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Join me in congratulating Ambassador Larry Vaughn.”
According to the Caribbean Community, the Ambassador addressed and said, “I am humbled by the call of the country as well as honoured by the acceptance of the Caribbean Community leadership to serve as Plenipotentiary Representative of St Kitts and Nevis to CARICOM.”
He further outlined that he is thankful to Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and the People and Government of St Kitts and Nevis for having reposed great trust in him to bridge the national as well as regional agendas in the integration architecture for the benefit of nationals and residents.
Vaughn also highlighted that he has been taking the role at the close of the 50th year in the life of the Community of the Caribbean region. “It is a time of unparalleled challenges as well as potentialities,” he noted. The newly appointed Ambassador added that he would continue to work in favour of the development and growth of the country concerning the Community.
Vaughn further mentioned that he would actively serve in partnership with colleagues in the Ambassadors for the shared benefit of the people – from Belize to Barbados, from The Bahamas to Suriname – to achieve more coordinated trade negotiation outcomes, to improve competitiveness in every sector across the member-states, to advocate for international appreciation for the multifaceted nature of the vulnerabilities and shortcomings, or to enhance political stability in each member-state.
He further expressed that he accepted the assigned role aware that the fortunes of St Kittitians and Nevisians are inextricably bound with the shared pursuits of economic integration, human and social development, foreign policy coordination, and security as are espoused and pursued by the Community.
“With these pillars ever before anything, I pledge my passion, my cooperation and my action, not only as the plenipotentiary representative but also as a proud son of Caribbean Community (CARICOM),” he was quoted saying.
While concluding his message to the public and the dignitaries, he mentioned, “I look forward to working closely with Dr Barnett and the staff of the Secretariat. I pray that our endeavours are successful with God’s blessing. God bless CARICOM. Thank you.”
