Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports – Saint Lucia has recently shared information about various activities and events for youth development. The activities will be hosted by the Ministry in partnership with other departments and ministries.

According to the social media updates shared by the Ministry, around four activities/ programmes will be hosted in late September and starting of October.

Elaborating on the first activity, which will be a job fair, the Ministry of Youth Development stated that in collaboration with the Castries South East Constituency Office, it will be hosting a Job Fair on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the CPJ Fresh Market Car park from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Ministry invited the general public to attend the fair and outlined, “This is an exciting opportunity to meet hiring managers and other potential businesses that interest you.
Please walk with your CV, resume and all necessary documents.”

Additionally, the Ministry joined hands with the Community Development Unit of the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment and informed that it will be hosting a Youth Development Workshop from September 18 to September 22, 2023.

Additionally, it mentioned, “Under the theme Grooming Local Folks to be Global Citizens. All Youth are invited.”

Furthermore, the Ministry of Sports partnered with SP Survivors to offer Road Race Conditioning and Training Practices. This training occurs every Saturday starting at 7:00 am at Mindoo Phillip Park.

Accordingly, the event aims to prepare students for school road races, ensuring their safety and optimal performance.

The fourth activity, which was briefed by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, was in collaboration with the Castries East Youth and Sports Council. According to the update, it will be hosting a Youth Business and Club Expo in commemoration of the International Year of Youth.
