Rio Claro man charged for sexually assaulting his aunt
A Rio Claro man was arrested and charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 47-year-old woman, whose responsibility to care was given to him.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A Rio Claro man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 47-year-old woman, whose responsibility to care was given to him. The police revealed that the accused was a nephew of the victim.
As per the reports, the accused was identified as a 32-year-old man, a nephew of the victim. This heinous incident took place on February 9 at around 8:30 pm.
The woman was recovering from a medical condition which rendered her motionless, and due to this, she was unable to speak.
According to the police statements, the woman’s husband returned to his home after work. He allegedly observed his nephew climbing off from his wife and putting off his pants. The husband found the scene suspicious.
He took his wife to the hospital, where she underwent medical treatment. The reports reveal that she had been sexually assaulted. The man immediately reported the incident to the police, and the investigating officers responded to the matter.
Following further investigations, a 32-year-old accused was located, arrested and charged with the offence.
The nephew was arrested by Cpl Farrier of the Rio Claro Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on March 19 and he was charged on March 21 with the offence. The accused was virtually presented before a Master at the High Court, where the charges were read to him.
His bail was denied and he was remanded into custody by Master Sarah De Silva and the matter was postponed to August 20, 2024.

“Imagine that!… he took advantage of her because of her illness and probably it wasn’t the first time. Dem so should not be tried, just throw them in jail and pelt away the key yes…real sicko!!!” quoted one.
“You own aunty some people really need prayer”, commented another.
