Prez Ali meets IRO to promote peace in Guyana
President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, met with executive members of the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO).

Guyana: President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, met with executive members of the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO).
Office of the President posted, “His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali met with executive members of the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) at State House this previous afternoon.”
Furthermore, they added, Also present at the meeting were Vice President, the Honourable Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, and Minister of Public Works, the Honourable Bishop Juan Edghill.
President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, cheered the group and agreed that it has an influential role in promoting peace and unity in Guyana.
President of Guyana Dr. Irfaan Ali also advised its members to call out persons who encourage hate, particularly on social media, and be part of the solution to healing the country.
IRO was formed in 2003, after which it fostered a constitution. In 2004, the organization was officially launched to promote inter-religious tolerance.
Now some 40-member organizations that came out of the traditional religions of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and the Baháʼí Faith are a part of the group.
A Guyana resident commented, “Excellency President, this is very important to meet with all the religious organizations. You put God first, and all other things will follow. God will heal the land of Guyana, This very great of you .”
Another resident of Guyana wrote, “God bless the president of Guyana stays safe congratulations.” Another resident wrote, “Excellent Guyanese are very religious people,GOD bless this land.”
President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, has managed the current situation of the nation very systematically. He even rectified the dispute of lobbying of fishermen by Venezuela with the help of other organizations and more central authorities.
He even expressed his gratitude to those organizations. Prez Ali extended his appreciation to the international community to add their voices in a “firm manner” against the detainment of the Guyanese fishermen and vessels released today by Venezuela.
