PM Terrance Drew addresses nurses during opening ceremony of Nurses Leadership Workshop
Prime Minister and the Minister of Health of the twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently interacted with the nurses during the starting ceremony of a two-day Nurses Leadership Workshop at CUNA Conference Centre.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister and the Minister of Health of the twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently interacted with the nurses during the starting ceremony of a two-day Nurses Leadership Workshop at CUNA Conference Centre. The event commenced on March 13, 2023, and will be concluded on March 15, 2023.
During the opening ceremony, he delivered brief inspiring remarks to the lead nurses within the Federation. Further, he thanked the medical staff for their bravery and sacrifice, as well as reminded them of the importance of the role they play within the healthcare sector.
Prime Minister Dr Drew, while addressing the attendees, stated, “You are the backbone of the healthcare system of every nation, and the0 contributions you make are invaluable. From working on the front lines of a pandemic to providing comfort to patients and families during difficult times or to support your colleagues through challenging situations, your every act makes a difference every day.”
He further stated that he wants to remind each and every nurse that their work matters. The healthcare staff is responsible for making a positive change in the lives of others, and that is something to be proud of.
Prime Minister Dr Drew further emphasised that leadership skills are an important tool for nurses to achieve their goals. He further mentioned that Nurses who exhibit strong leadership skills could create a positive work environment, along with inspiring their colleagues to provide the best care and service to patients. Effective leadership promotes creativity and innovation, teamwork as well as creates a culture of accountability.
While concluding his remarks, PM Dr Drew urged all nurses to continue the great work and remember that their efforts make a difference.
Dr Terrance Drew, as the Minister of Health, has always actively participated in such events and has regularly come forward to motivate the nurses, doctors and other medical care staff.
