Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has landed to The Bahamas to participate in the . The leaders of the CARICOM community will be meeting in Nassau, The Bahamas, between February 15 and 17, 2023.

As per the updates shared by the authorities, the 44th CARICOM Meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip Davis.

The major issues to be addressed during the meeting will be Climate Change and Climate Finance, CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), Agriculture and Food Security and Health.

According to the shared updates, CARICOM IMPACS updates will be gathered by the Heads of Government. Other topics which will be discussed during this meeting will be the Council for National Security and Law Enforcement and the Special CARICOM Ministerial Task Force on Agriculture. The discussion will further emphasised on the implications for the outcomes of the recently conducted COP27 Climate Change Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Furthermore, the focus also will remain on increase in the investment related to energy security for member states. Developments in the CSME will be shared by the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee (PMSC).

According to the government of Dominica, Minister for Foreign Affairs International Business, Trade and Energy, Dr Vince Henderson will be accompanying the Prime Minister of Dominica. The government has informed that Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security Dr Irving McIntyre will be the acting Prime Minister during this official trip of PM Roosevelt Skerrit.

Besides this, other CARICOM leaders, such as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre.
