Zhang Zhan was brave enough to go against all the government’s odds and spread awareness among the world. The whole world is thankful for her bravery, but what she got? Nothing but a tag of Criminal!

Zhang Zhan stood against this unfair charge!

Zhang Zhan arrived at a Shanghai court on Monday morning. According to resources, Zhang Zhan went to Wuhan in February to report the COVID-19 on her own. Her Live Video went internationally viral all over the world. That brings sudden attention of all Chinese Authorities. After charging for this, she went on Hunger Strike. Her lawyers said that she is in awful condition; her weakened health doesn’t allow her to continue the hunger strike. But she didn’t stop.

Regulations over Media of China

Regulatory agencies like General Administration of Press and Publication and National Radio and Television Administration continue to set restrictions on the independent work of media. There are rules and regulations over the legalities of the Communist Party, government policies in Tibet and Xinjiang, pornography, and the forbidden religious topics, like Dalai Lama and Falun Gong.

On the other hand, most state media no longer gets heavy payments from the government authorities and hence complete their expenses via commercial advertising.

As a journalist, Zhang Zhan did her responsibility. She should be rewarded for her act of bravery rather than punished.
