Antigua and Barbuda: Virgin Atlantic has announced the expansion of services to Antigua and Barbuda as it has increased its flights to the island nation from one to four times a week. These services will be effective from 28th October and will play a huge role in enhancing the tourism sector of the twin-island nation.
This decision of the expansion has been taken by the Virgin Atlantic with a vision to increase their frequencies to Antigua and Barbuda and enhance their air connectivity. Along with that, the airline has also extended its seasonal service to Cape Town in South Africa.
The increased services to Antigua and Barbuda will run through April which will provide a substantial uplift in the airlift sector during the peak tourist season. This step undertaken by the airline will play a key role in positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a premier destination for all the travellers.
As a part of their decision of expanding flights to Antigua and Cape Town, the Virgin Atlantic also announced the suspension of their services to Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. While shedding light on this decision, the spokesperson of the airline stated that the last time Virgin Atlantic will fly from Turks and Caicos will be on 21st February and two days later to Bahamas on 23rdFebruary.
The airline stated that they are continuing to focus on optimising their network and are regularly reviewing the destinations they are flying to. And, this expansion of services to Antigua and Barbuda will start from October and will continue till April.
On the expansion of the services, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority expressed excitement and stated that they are excited to welcome large number of tourists to the country. They continued to say that this significant boost would not elevate the tourism sector but also bring huge growth and development to the economic sector as well.
Moreover, the decision undertaken by the airline shed light on the growing appeal of Antigua and Barbuda as a tourist destination and its significance in Virgin Atlantic’s strategic plans. And, this expansion would enhance the tourist options for all the visitors and would add more flexible scheduling options.
Therefore, the tourism authority promised to offer plethora of experiences to all their travellers, ensuring their visit memorable and comfortable.
