St Kitts and Nevis: United States Secretary of State in the Joe Biden Administration, Anthony Blinken, has taken to Twitter to congratulate St Kitts and Nevis’ fourth Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, for a thumping victory in the general elections 2022 on Friday.
“Congratulations to PM-elect the Honourable Dr Terrance Drew and the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis for reaffirming the strength of their democracy through their recent elections. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership to build a more prosperous, secure hemisphere,” Blinken posted.
US Ambassador Brian A Nichols, Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs in the US Department of State in Washington, DC, also found time to congratulate the new St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister.
“Congratulations to Dr Terrance Drew on his victory as Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis. Together we’ve strengthened public health, education, and security for our countries, and we look forward to a brighter future for the people and the Caribbean region,” wrote Nichols on his Twitter account on Sunday morning.
Nichols posted a photo of Dr Drew taken at Saturday’s Swearing-in ceremony at Government House.
In its congratulatory message, the United Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados tweeted, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and his government. We are looking to work with the new administration while enjoying the trust and mutual respect that has defined the relationship between our two countries. We commend all Kittitians and Nevisians who participated peacefully in the elections today. The USA remains committed to working with Saint Kitts and Nevis towards a more secure and prosperous future.”
