Trinidad and Tobago: UNC Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar declared that Trinidad and Tobago have never needed the UNC more than it does now to defend the rights.
The United National Congress (UNC) Facebook official page stated that “Our country has never existed in more chaos and crisis than it does now.
Our nation has never needed the UNC more than it does now to defend our citizens’ rights, protect our national way of life, and champion development. As a party and Parliamentary bench, we stand ready to build this nation. We will not be deterred or intimidated by this Government.
Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar added, “We are in challenging time we can ever see; I am talking about all parties, I am talking for the people who are abandoned by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. She declared that “If you think you (Stuart Young) have escaped from the parliament, then the answer is no, you haven’t, you have to face the parliament that your illegal deeds must be confronted. He brought damage to the nation as you acted unlawfully and illegally.”
This is the right of every citizen to enter the country. Their suffering is dishearting the UNC Leader. The people of Trinidad and Tobago are living in foreign countries and unable to enter the country.
UNC Leader’s earlier statement:
Earlier, UNC Leader also announced, some inhabitants have been stranded overseas for ten months since the border was blocked due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic, while picked people have been given exceptions for themselves and their loved ones to fly in and out. According to her, this is unfair and very discriminatory. This is a violation of Democracy. It is unbearable and not be accepted further.
UNC Leader questioned, “Which enactment in this nation gave this one man (Stuart Young) this authority to forbid citizens to come back homeland, when the Constitution says no citizen must be suspended from entering nation?”
