Trinidad and Tobago set to host PINKnic, to focus on breast cancer awareness
Trinidad and Tobago is all set to host PINKnic TT at Fatima Grounds, Trinidad on Saturday, 10th February, 2024. The event will be celebrated under the theme “Party with a purpose” which focuses on raising awareness for breast cancer.

Trinidad and Tobago is all set to host the vibrant PINKnic TT at Fatima Grounds, Trinidad, on Saturday, 10th February 2024. The event will be celebrated under the theme “Party with a purpose”, which focuses on raising awareness for breast cancer to be organized by the Air Committee.
The Air Committee initially organised the event in October 2019, which coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In its first edition, the event of PINKnic donated $25,000 (TT) to the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society. This year, the event will collaborate with the Pink Hibiscus Foundation to further support women affected by breast cancer.
The Director of Air Committee, Shane Baird, said the motive behind this event was to make a positive impact by combining a party-like atmosphere with a purpose.
Shane Baird stated that part of the earnings generated from the event will be dedicated to the women suffering from breast cancer as well as to raise awareness about it.

Baird said that women play a crucial role in society and, therefore, they will be given an opportunity to display their best in a magnificent and lavish manner. He added that women will be provided with such a vibrant atmosphere so that they can take a break from their hectic schedule and enjoy the event to the fullest.
A few tips were also shared for women for Carnival 2024. While sharing the tips, he stated that women should avoid going to isolated areas, should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, carry a water bottle to avoid exhaustion and should also avoid accepting drinks from strangers.
The women will be given the chance to immerse themselves in alluring photo opportunities. These interactive photo ops will feature artistic installations and attractive backdrops, which will allow the visitors to capture beautiful moments. The event will also offer its guests a diverse range of cuisines, from traditional delicacies to fusion creations.
The residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their excitement about attending the event. One person commented, “It is a beautiful and great initiative. Looking forward to attending the event.”
