Trinidad and Tobago (A) win Jewels of Caribbean U-17 Women’s Tournament

Trinidad and Tobago Team A won the Jewels of the Caribbean Under 17 Women’s Invitational Tournament at the Larry Gomes Stadium on Wednesday, 2020 December 2023. The team secured victory against St Vincent and the Grenadines by a score of 2-0.

Notably, the goal scorer from Trinidad and Tobago was Orielle Martin 23’ and 80+2. No player from St Vincent and the Grenadines was able to score a goal.

Moreover, the match for the third place was conducted on the same day at 3:00 pm between Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. Team B. Grenada won the game by a score of 3-0. The player who scored a goal from Grenada was Abigail Williams. He scored three goals: 4’, 49’ and 50’.

Furthermore, Team A of Trinidad and Tobago faced St Vincent and the Grenadines on 18 December as well at Larry Gomes Stadium. The match was won by Trinidad and Tobago Team A by four goals. The players who scored goals were Madison Campbell, 15’, Jasmine McNish, 45+1, and Orielle Martin, who scored two goals, 9’ and 66’.

On the same day, Grenada faced Team B of Trinidad and Tobago in the first game of the Double header at the Larry Gomes Stadium and the match drew 0-0.

It is to be noted that the Jewels of the Caribbean Under 17 Women’s Invitational Tournament was conducted between four teams: Trinidad and Tobago Team A and B, Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

All teams played four matches each; Trinidad and Tobago Team A won all four matches. Therefore, they are the champions of the tournament. St Vincent and the Grenadines stood in the second position as they won 2 matches out of four, and in both matches, they lost to Trinidad and Tobago Team A.

Further, the third and fourth places were secured by Grenada and Team B of Trinidad and Tobago, respectively. As Grenada lost two matches, it won only 1, and 1 match was drawn out of the four matches they played. Trinidad and Tobago stood fourth in the competition, as out of the four matches, the team lost three matches and 1 match was drawn.
