The Earl and Countess of Wessex to arrive in St Lucia on April 22

St Lucia: The Earl and Countess of Wessex – Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones, will be visiting the Caribbean country on Friday 22, 2022 (Friday). Both will tour St Lucia during their visit to nearby regions – St Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as Antigua and Barbuda. St Lucia would be the base for their trip to the Caribbean region.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will visit the three countries between April 22 (Friday) and April 28 (Thursday).

“Their Royal Highnesses, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, will arrive in Saint Lucia on Friday, April 22, as part of a visit to the region, which also includes visits to St Vincent and the Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda. With Saint Lucia as a base, their Royal Highnesses will visit the three Countries from April 22 to April 28,” St Lucian Government informed.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will explore various landmarks with historical and touristic value. Both will also attend a church service and an Investiture Ceremony for the Queen’s Birthday Awards recipients. Reportedly, Prince Edward will present the medals to the medallists during the ceremony.

“While in Saint Lucia, Their Royal Highnesses will visit various landmarks of historical and touristic value, attend a church service as well as an Investiture Ceremony for recipients of the Queen’s Birthday Awards, with medals being presented by The Earl of Wessex,” Government further stated.

In the midst of the visit, guests will interact with community leaders, local entrepreneurs and the young population of St Lucia.

As per the information by the authorities of St Lucia, “The Earl and Countess will have the opportunity to meet with community leaders, local entrepreneurs, cultural practitioners and the youth, with whom they will dialogue.”

The visit forms part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year activities.
