St Lucia reports 32 new COVID-19 cases, 124 recoveries

St Lucia: On Sunday, February 14, 2021, the Ministry of Health & Wellness received certification from the Ezra Long Laboratory of 32 new active cases of coronavirus in St Lucia.

This is from a bunch of 200 tests performed on specimens taken during the period February 1 to February 12, 2021.

All of these people were observed within the community at various respiratory clinics, where they were evaluated and tested for coronavirus.

As per the national coronavirus testing protocol, they were all settled in quarantine by health caretakers while anticipating their coronavirus test outcomes.

Managements have since been made to place them into quarantine. The contact tracing team is undertaking inquiries to identify the contacts of these newly confirmed coronavirus cases.

Confirmation was also obtained today of the recovery of 124 people bringing the total number of active coronavirus cases currently in the nation to date to 718.

Two of the active coronavirus cases are in risky care at the Respiratory Hospital, and all of the others are presently stable.

The new coronavirus cases bring the total number of patients diagnosed in the nation to date to 2519.

The Ministry of Health urges everyone to continue practicing the practices that will help to reduce the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Frequently wash your hands with flowing water and alcohol-based soap. Wear a mask when in crowded places and guarantee it covers the mouth, nose, and chin. Maintain a distance from others wherever possible. Use a bleach solution to sanitize frequently contagious surfaces and often handled objects. Avoid intimate touch with other people who have flu-like symptoms.

If you are undergoing flu-like symptoms, it is necessary to keep away from others and to urgently seek pharmaceutical care at your closest community respiratory clinic for assessment.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness will continue providing updates to the public as new information becomes available.
