St Lucia: LPG prices rise for 20, 22 and 100 lbs cylinders

St Lucia: The retail price of LPG 20, 22 and 100 lb cylinders has been increased by the Government of St Lucia following the changes in international oil prices. 

The price changes will be in effect from Monday, October 4, 2021. The 0 Pound Cylinder (9.07 kg) has increased from – $30.80 to $31.70 per cylinder whereas 22 Pound Cylinder (9.98 kg) increased from – $33.88 to $34.87 per cylinder and 100 Pound Cylinder (45.36kg) has been increased from – $211.31 to $220.32 per cylinder. 

On the other hand, retail price of – gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene remains the same. Gasoline remains constant at $3.07 per litre or $13.95 per gallon, while Kerosene remains unchanged at $2.21 per litre or $10.06 per gallon. 

Besides this, Diesel also remains the same at $3.07 per litre or $13.95 per gallon. 

The St Lucian government has further notified the general public that the next adjustment of the retail price of the fuel products will be on Monday, October 25, 2021.

In the month of August, the price of Kerosene was increased from $1.54 to $2.21 per litre or $7.00 to $10.06 per gallon, with the increase in the price of 100 Pound Cylinder (45.36 kg) from – $216.35 to $219.79 per cylinder. 

Over the past 6 to 7 months, due to the increase in the international crude oil prices, the imported price of fuel into Saint Lucia has also been increased considerably. 

The island nation is also battling the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. 16 individuals tested positive for the deadliest viral disease on October 5 2021, taking the total number of confirmed cases to more than 11,700. 

So far, a total of 209 individuals have lost their lives to the novel coronavirus. 

While 25.4 per cent of St Lucia’s population has received its first shot of the vaccine and around 18.3 per cent of individuals are fully vaccinated with receiving their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.
